From Sports Gaming Network:
Treyarch can dress up THPS2 as much as it likes and even add a shiny little X at the end of the game’s title. The fact remains, however, this is not THPS3, for which Xbox owners mustwait until sometime in 2002.

  Blade Interview [By [email protected]]
   With Xavier Carrillo

Blade is a 3rd person hack’n’slash affair thats is being developed by a Spanish developer RebelAct. It’s actually been in development for a helluva long time. Annouced not long after Quake’s release it’s engine promised real-time shadows amoungst other techical marvels. I got to see Blade running way back at last years ECTS, and it was looking really promising to say the least. I didn’t actually see it at this years event. It was there, I just missed it, DOH! Anyhow, I decided to get an developers update. I got to have a quick chat with Xavier Carrillo, RebelAct’s Project Manager.

KungFu: How’s development going on Blade and what’s taking you guys so long? 🙂

Xavier: The development is going quite well and we’re very close to beta. It’s taking us more time than we thought because we have decided to make a new movement system. It allows us to make the movements more realistic in a very complex environment.

KungFu: Blade has looked incredible since the first day it was announced, have you added any new features to the Blade engine to make Blade look even nicer and to keep it upto date?

Xavier: Our engine is still supporting real-time shadows & lightening and a real-time physics. We have been working very hard on the AI of the enemies and on the combat system.

KungFu: What about T&L;, will Blade take advantage of this new feature, or any other new 3d technologies?

Xavier: We don’t use T&L; yet but we’re testing it in our D3D version…

KungFu: When is the release date for Blade?

Xavier: The release date for Blade is March2000.

KungFu: And, will there be a demo available before hand?

Xavier: I think we should have a demo version before the end of the year.

KungFu: One thing i had noticed about Blade was the lack of anything mentioning multiplayer. Will Blade have a multiplayer option?

Xavier: Blade will of course include a multiplayer version… but we will maintainthe suspense about how it will be played as long as possible!!!

KungFu: I noticed there is mention of a level editor on the Rebelact web page, will this be available to the public to make their own maps and levels?

Xavier: It’s an interesting idea…we should discuss that further.
